TODAY, Monday, September 17th, is Constitution Day! On September 17th, 1787 - yes, 231 years ago - the Constitutional Convention held its final meeting. After months of painstaking work, they met to sign the Constitution of the United States of America. Of course much remained to be done; the states still had to vote to ratify. It wouldn't be until two years later -- on March 4, 1789 -- that the first U.S. Congress met at Federal Hall in New York City to declare the new Constitution to be in effect.   And now you know. .

THE TIGER’S DEN will be serving Megaburger Bar for lunch today.

THE LOST & FOUND, located in the attendance office, has collected sweatshirts, bags, shoes, water bottles, and other items. All items not claimed by the end of the quarter will be donated. Stop by and see if we have anything of yours.

STUDENTS interested in taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 24th can sign up in Student Services. The cost is $20 per exam.

D&D CLUB meet today in M-7.

THE GSA (Gay- Straight Alliance) club meets Mondays after school in room SC7. This week is Bisexuality Awareness Week. At the end of the GSA meeting, we will have a pizza party in SC-7. All are invited

MOCK TRIAL meetings are every Monday at 3:30 PM. Come join and meet awesome people! You don’t have to be an aspiring attorney to be in our club. We need witness roles as well.

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS GAMERS: If you want to try out for the e-sports team, you must submit an application form on or before Tuesday, September 18th.  Application forms are available in room M-8. Try outs starts Thursday.

A REMINDER to all Royal Regiment BAND & COLORGUARD members...there is a rehearsal tomorrow night from 6pm - 9pm. See you at the Band room.

SENIORS: Please report to cafeteria tomorrow morning at 7:20 a.m. for a senior meeting.

SENIORS: Cal Grant Awards are free money provided by the State of California to help pay for the cost of college. If you are a graduating high school senior, meet academic, financial and eligibility requirements, you may qualify to receive a Cal Grant. The Cal Grant GPA upload is due by October 1. Cal Grant GPAs will be accepted only if certified by a school electronically directly to the California Student Aid Commission’s system.

THE OLD COMPUTER lab in the library has been removed. Chromebook are available for students to check out. All chromebooks will print to each of the library’s printers. ID cards are preferred to check out a chromebook, and beginning 2nd quarter will be required to use a chromebook. If you did not get an ID card, please see Rhonda in counseling to get one. Beginning 2nd quarter you must have an ID card to use a chromebook in the library.

CONSTITUTION WEEK - what do you know? Some of the original framers and many delegates in the state ratifying conventions were troubled that the original Constitution lacked a description of individual rights. In 1791, Americans added a list of rights to the Constitution. The first ten amendments became known as The Bill of Rights.

IT’S SUICIDE PREVENTION WEEK: Did you know that 85% of suicidal people have given warning signs? If anyone is looking for help please see your counselor or Mr. Nathaniel in the counseling office. It’s ok to ask 4 help!

STUDENTS from Mr. Vierra’s classes who have turned in a blue pre-arranged absence slip should be at the bus circle in front of the administration building at 9:00 to go on the field trip.

TOKAY ASP is offering an ACT test prep course on Monday 9/24 and Tuesday 9/25 after school from 2:30-5:30PM. Instead of paying $99, the first 30 people who sign up will receive this training and test prep materials for FREE. Priority given to juniors and seniors. Boost those test scores & sign up with Ms. Cassel in Room E-1.
